Dear CB,
SEBI's rule for trading Illiquid stocks through auction is like killig patient instead of curing disease. May be even stock exchanges are impacted by this as the trading volumes have gone down significantly in 2000 odd stocks which are in illiquid category. Even other stocks which have low volumes are badly hit as investors are afaraid these stocks could get sfifted in illiquid category in future. One side the small & mid caps where investors usually put money have badly underperformed & on the other side SEBI's stupid rule about call auction trading has badly hit investors. Do you know if there is any pressure on SEBI to change this rule for illiquid stocks?

Hi Jay, yes. retail participation in markets has been very low after the 2008 crash. people have no faith in the system it seems.
