On the broking side, while F&O volumes have been fairly decent, sequentially, cash market volumes haven’t grown much. Do you think that trend will likely continue into the fourth quarter?
If you look at the business mix in the past eight quarters for cash and F&O segments, it was roughly around 75% in the F&O segment and 25% was in the cash segment. And now, that has changed to around 91% for F&Os and the remaining in the cash segment. So, things should have bottomed out, but as of now, it hasn’t . The business mix is heavily squeezed towards F&Os . But over the next two quarters or so, we do see cash volumes picking up.
How much more downside in the market from these levels?
Our view is that the market is falling because there is lack of buying conviction. And so, the volumes are also shirking. People have complete disbelief in the India growth story. We think that this is some kind of correction and the long-term India macro story is still intact and looks good, and it’s a matter of time that the buyers will come back.
So, what is the call for the near term?
In the near term, the market will be volatile with a downward bias. The budget may not be such a big event, but the market does take this as a major event and then by March the advance tax numbers come in. So, earnings and the interest-rates scenario are the two factors that the market will be watching.

Hi Mahe, it has been facing strong resistance at 240-246 levels. for now would advice to hedge long with 2-3 220 puts. if nifty holds onto 5250 levels of r a day or 2 more, it can head upto 235-240 again.

ADAG stocks have usually been in news for the wrong reason's. best to stay away from them for now
