CB, feel like bothering you with JSW holding once again......the run seems to continue...holding fresh longs @ 670 now..........don't know why it is going up, but enjoying it thoroughly......not sure whether/when it will keep a full stop or should i put a full stop with satisfaction..... but the graphs, blogs and its buy-sell volumes, all suggest it will have a much bigger run like it had in 2007 and again in 2009...what is ur opinion?

Hi Kb, Ok. Yours was a synthetic long future hedged with a plain vanilla short future. But here the net income from the synthetic long was 43 points. But I guess the payoff will be stagnant. Not sure though. But we require double margin for the strategy. Also payoff from the synthetic long will not be linear as delta, theta, implied volatility are there. Not taking into account gamma and vega. Need to track and see

Hi SM, actually i posted a mistake. . :) we cant get premium by that method.

there is one theory ie > strike + call- put = future .. normally that's the rule and if breaks we can arbitrage .. ie if future is low than normal calculated, we buy future and take a synthetic short and if future is high priced we sell future and take a synthetic long, to track the difference. but we cant gain premium with that ..

if we try the method i posted,i guess we will never get profit, just sit neutral with no loss/gain
