HeadLine : Promoters to increase stake in R-Infra to 48%

Promoters of Reliance Infrastructure are set to raise their stake in the company to 48% by investing 1,600 crore and converting warrants issued to them in July 2009 into equity shares. In 2009, the company had allotted 4.29 crore warrants, which were convertible into equal number of shares, to the promoter entity. Promoters could convert the warrants into shares any time between after October 9, 2009, but not after 18 months from the date of allotment of warrants. The conversion price is at a premium of 8% to the current market price of Rs 859 of Reliance Infrastructure shares.
R-Infra, which is engaged in the business of development of infrastructure projects, as well as engineering, procurement and construction, is currently developing 25 projects with a total investment of around Rs 40,000 crore. Of the same, it has around 12 projects, which are generating revenue of Rs 20,000 crore annually.
The company has a road project portfolio of 970 km across six states. It is also developing three metro projects — Mumbai Metro Phase I and II and the Delhi airport metro. The company is also developing five transmission line projects, five airport projects, as well as the second phase of Bandra-Worli sea link project

HeadLine : Suzlon bags 865-cr order
Date : 07/01/2011
The country’s largest wind turbine maker Suzlon won a 865-crore order from the Vedanta Group firm Hindustan Zinc to set up wind farms in four states which will together generate 150 megawatt (MW). The project entails setting up 150 mw capacity in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu by September, besides operating and maintaining the mills.
