Hi Dathha, OI does not move with the stock's price, short covering is something occours when something has dipped quite a lot and the traders who had shorted the stock at higher levels start booking profits, when they book profits, for the shorts they had previously made, they buy stocks, this buy often leads a rise in the stocks price which is termed as short covering
