I have heard there can be lot of short selling. Please explain how to short in shares. Do we have to square the same day or can we keep it long. If so how. I am talking about shares not derrivatives.

Hi Deepak, we need to square off the same day in cash market. you first need to sell a stock and if the price falls you are in profit if price rises you are at a loss..

Can you please suggest a good place where I can learn about options. How the margin varries, time factor etc. I learned a bit about it but only the general parts. Still I need to know in detail how can u calculate profits & sell before expiry etc.
