CB/Kartik, why most of the people who trade in options ends up with a loss? it's lack of technical knowledge, greed, wrong entry point what? Is options instrument is designed in such a way that traders end up having loss(most of the times)? What should be our strategy or what things should we keep in mind before entering any trade to make some profit in options instrument?

Thanks a lot CB, yes you are rite most of the ppl (including me) doesn't apply SL theory while trading. In my case most of the time i close my profitable trades much early, you can say mostly I apply Stop Profit theory while trading :)

Rohit, suppose u r long on tata steel@362,expecting it to go higher.but if it starts coming down from ur purchase price,u buy a put of tata steel, strike price 360.now in case tata steel comes down, the price of ur put will increase and ur losses will be minimal.hope this helps
