The allocation for social sector has been increased by 17% to Rs. 1,60,887 crore which amounts to 36.4% of the total plan allocation. Bharat Nirman has been allocated Rs. 580bn. Remuneration for Anganwadi workers have been increased to Rs. 3,000 per month from Rs. 1,500 per month while the Anganwadi helpers will get Rs. 1,500 per month.
