Hello everybody here...i have a query related to the dividend of shares...
Actually i bought Andhra bank on 6-May-2010.
According to Nseindia.com, board declared dividend on 29th-April-2010

Message on nseindia.com "Andhra Bank has informed the Exchange that the Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 29, 2010 has declared a Dividend of Rs.5/- ps. (50%) for the financial year 2009-10

Message on bseindia.com Andhra Bank has informed BSE that the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting held on April 29, 2010, inter alia, has declared a divided of Rs. 5.00 ps. (50%) for the financial year 2009-10.

I got the dividend from their side.
Now the question arises that How i am eligble for the dividend as i bought the shares after the declared date.
Is there any different method to check whether we r eligble or not.!

    Please resolve my query.
    Thanks. Chirag Bedi

Hi CB, NO Sir..as per my records..it is purchased on the same as i told u...5th may...
chirag do tell me one thing...my broker told me that it might be possible that board declared dividend on 29th only and the applied date is different as moneycontrol.com is showing two dates..announcement date is 29th April and the effective date is 3rd june..what r these two dates..??

and another condition might be possible that the board recommend dividend on 29th..but it was confirmed on the Annual general meeting held on 16th june.

From the above two points, is anything possible in practical.?

Hi Janvi Kapoor, date declared is usually taken as the final date. but still ill confirm once with the broker.

Hi Mayur, book near 150-152. ifci can be bought near 56.

Hi Ravindra, they are usually used to hedging. but yes, one can trade them but they are high risk bets
