MY FINAL FINDINGS ON ZERODHA

Meaning: Zerodha name is created by the fusion of the English word “Zero” and the Sanskrit word “Rodha” meaning barrier

Brokerage experience: On 30th Oct, I traded for 1 lot (buy + sell) and it cost me a brokerage of 175 Rs. Yesterday I Traded for 7 Lots (buy + sell) and the brokerage was 330. 7 times trade but brokerage only double... so it seems like some charges are fixed and trading in large quantities is excellent!!

Margins:

Cash: 4 to 10 times depending on the script
Futures: 40% to 75% of SPAN + Exposure Margins, depending on the volatility of the market
Options: No margin is provided
Note: ALL MARGINS ARE FOR INTRADAY ONLY, NOT TO MAKE POSITIONS

Pros:

1. Unmatchable flat rate brokerage scheme for trading in huge volumes.
2. Easy online account opening from anywhere in India.
3. Good day end reporting
4. Rich trading software with excellent charting features
5. Good customer support
6. Fast account opening
7. Fully Automated Trading and Semi-Automated Trading through its plug-in with AmiBroker

Cons:

1. Webapp is no way near to standards, not user friendly. Need continuous refresh.
2. No mobile application for at least next 30 days, confirmed from Zerodha

Hi Aabha, The prices are not random, but the closing prices of the previous day. All profit or loss for the day are calculated as M-to-M profits or loss and added or subtracted from your ledger on a daily basis. In theory, no trades are carried beyond a day.

Hi Aabha, Hmmm... no, switch to futures for intraday or 1-2 days trades and go with options for positional trades. For intraday or 1-2 days trades, as targets are small, decay damages on profits, but losses are huge. But for positionals, targets are large, so profits in options are multi-fold with limited risk.

Nifty though strongly bullish today failed to break the major resistance and closed below it. This level was also the breakdown level from where the fall started. I expect a Gap-Down opening tomorrow, but would recommend to go short on Nifty only below 5618 for targets of 5569, 5545, 5522

Hi SR, Exactly! we are still in the breakdown range only (about 5640).But, as of now global cues seems to be positive.In that case, a positive opening of +20 possible (ie,nifty may open around 5665). Even then, you see a down trend ?

Hi Priyanka, I doubt a positive opening in Nifty for tomorrow. But as I said, I will only go short on Nifty after it breaks below 5618. Till then, I'm positive on Nifty :)

Hi Priyanka, To go long on Nifty, we need to wait and watch for some consolidation pattern. Will update about the next long entry. This is how I trade in Nifty using AutoChannels. I enter 3 lots (or multiples of 3) at the time of a Channel Break. Book profits in 2 when the first swing target is achieved and hold the third till the Channel Reverses. I always keep a protective stop of about 10 points below/above the SL. Sometimes the third lot gives amazing profits.

Hi Priyanka, Keep a few lots for overnight position (only enough not to disturb your sleep). Over 80% of the times, overnight positions are favourable. Btw, didn't the FIIs did exactly that today? They already took the market up to sell. Now they will take the market lower to buy :)

Hi Cerulean, I dont know what you did with NG. 201.50 to 202 was the mentioned resistance. 200 was the mentioned support. 202 was broken around 3:40-3:45pm. If you went long, then 202.60 was made around 4:30 pm. A neat 60 paise, which in case of NG is very good. But if went long and not booked profits, then its a different story. On the other hand, if you missed going long, NG broke the support of 200 around 6:30 pm. Went upto 197.60. It was a great great great shorting opportunity. I guessed you capitalised. Movement was seen both ways. If went long above 202 and not booked profits, and SL of 200 was hit, then the loss would have definitely been compensated by going short below 200 :)

Hi Priyanka, GE. Lets see where we open tomorrow. Very good support at 5620-5625 levels. 5685-5700 good resistance levels.
Any dip should be bought in to provided 5620 holds. But above 5700 till 5730 was a congestion zone. Once Nifty enters that zone people will try to trade the range and scalp for small gains. Above 5730 another round of gains :)
