Overview

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (GSKCH) today declared its financial results for the year ended December 31, 2007. Net Sales at Rs.12,778 millions recorded an impressive growth of 15.3% over 2006 with PAT at Rs. 1,626 millions growing by 28.1% for the same period and PBT growing by 28.6%, over last year to Rs.2,451 millions. For the Fourth quarter, net sales were Rs.2,841 millions, while PBT and PAT were Rs. 412 millions and Rs. 275 millions respectively.

“Strong performance in 2007 has been driven by product innovation, investment behind brands, cost containment and retention and development of our key talent” said Zubair Ahmed, Managing Director, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd.

“GSKCH’s single-minded focus in 2008 year will continue to be on top line growth through customer driven innovation in existing and new product categories while continuing to invest behind our brands besides continuing our efforts on costs curtailment. The year has started with two new product launches – Women’s Horlicks and a Specialist Nutrition product under Glaxo Nutrition – both products designed with specific consumer needs”, he added.
