The Market cheered, bulls remained in power
ndian Markets Update
Sensex and Nifty ended in green yesterday up by 0.62% and 0.73% respectively. Pharmaceuticals, banks and metals sectors showed strong performance.
PNB (5.99%), IndusInd Bank (4.65%) and Kotak Mah. Bank (4.30%) were peak gainers while Sun Pharma. Inds. (-3.22%), GAIL (India) (-3.22%) and Lupin (-3.19%) were major losers in the nifty.
The NSE India VIX up by 0.49% to close at 14.41 after being as high as 14.89 and as low as 13.28.
The SGX Nifty currently stands at 8808, slightly down 1 pts from its previous close.
Global Markets Update
U.S. markets ended higher on Thursday after trading in a narrow range as investors digested a rebound in oil prices and looked for more hints on the timing of an interest rate hike.
European markets closed higher on Thursday, as investors responded to fresh economic statistics and auto stocks posted strong gains.
Asian markets outside of Japan improved on Friday, drawing support from a stronger end on Wall Street overnight and as China's consumer inflation held steady in March.
