Public sector firms Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) and National Thermal Power Corporation, the country’s largest power producer, have signed an agreement to jointly produce nuclear power plants.Under the agreement, the companies will set up a joint venture firm in which NPCIL will hold the majority 51 per cent stake and NTPC will hold the remaining 49 per cent. The JV will set up a 2,000 Mw nuclear power plant at a location to be finalised later, Press Information Bureau said in a statement issued here today.
