Axis Bank Q2 net up 77 pct at Rs 403 cr

Axis Bank on Monday announced a net profit of Rs 402.91 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, a 76.85 per cent growth for the corresponding period a year-ago.The Bank had a net profit of Rs 227.82 crore in the September quarter of FY’08, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total Income rose to Rs 3239.45 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 2059.37 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.

Shares of Axis Bank were trading at Rs 606.25, up 9.77 per cent in the early morning trade on the BSE.
