Satyam launches SatyamStarPower.com

This article was posted on Jul 3, 2008 and is filed under Press Releases

Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE: SAY), a leading global consulting and information services provider, announced today that has launched SatyamStarPower.com, a web portal designed to showcase the creative talents of its employees worldwide. This first-of-its-kind capability adds a new dimension to Satyam’s innovative Fun@Work initiative, which involves associates and their families in social and recreational activities sponsored by Satyam. The new portal enables Satyam associates to post examples of their creative talents— such as the abilities to paint, sing, act and write— so that their colleagues can enjoy and vote for those who outshine the rest.

Satyam’s Fun@Work program broadens the avenues available for associates to be involved with the company and to collaborate with fellow associates and their families. Satyam’s experience has shown that the program strengthens associate morale, increases productivity, improves client satisfaction, and lowers associate attrition.

The new portal is powered by iTalent—an advanced voice- and visual-enabled Internet program that enables users to participate in online contests. iTalent is provided by NowPos (short for Now Possible), a leading Hyderabad-based research and development company.

“Fun@work is an innovative program and a great way to develop camaraderie among colleagues,” said B. Rama Raju, Satyam’s chief executive officer, at the launch of the website yesterday. “Being a global company, this initiative connects everyone irrespective of their location, and has a huge communication potential going forward.”

The state-of-the-art system will initially connect Satyam’s 51,000 associates around the world. Plans to extend the platform to family members of associates are underway. The site will have new contests updated regularly.

“This project highlights the fact that work is no longer a one-dimensional activity, and that companies realize that stress-busters help them achieve higher objectives,” said Pradeep Kondiparthi, the Head – Fun@Work, Associate Relations at Satyam. “This initiative is a clear and focused step in this direction.”
