The Reserve Bank India has notified on February 18, 2008 that no further purchases of equity shares of Television Eighteen India Ltd., should be made through stock exchanges in India on behalf of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) under Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS) without obtaining prior clearance of Reserve Bank of India. The Reserve Bank of India has stated that the aggregate share holding of Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) under Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS) in Television Eighteen India Ltd., has reached the stipulated limit of 26 per cent of its paid up capital.
