Founders pledge 13.5% of Tata Steel equity

Mumbai: Tata Steel Ltd said on Monday its founders have pledged 98.9 million shares, or 13.53 per cent of the total equity capital.
Tata Sons Ltd, which held 29.27 per cent of the steelmaker at December 2008, has pledged 96.4 million shares, or 13.19 per cent. Tata Investment Corp, which held 0.43 per cent, has pledged 2.5 million shares, or 0.34 per cent as security for its convertible bonds issue, Tata Steel said in a statement to the stock exchanges.
Founders hold 33.96 per cent in the company.
