Era Infra Engineering Ltd. through their construction & contracts division has bagged a prestigious contract from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. for the construction of EMU Maintenance Car Shed between Nallasopara & Virar stations of Western Railway through International Competitive Bidding (ICB).

The project being funded by International Bank for Reconstruction Development (IBRD) is part of Mumbai Urban Transport Project. The contract valued at Rs 85.20 crore is scheduled to be completed by November 2009. The scope of work involves the construction of RCC service buildings, roads, pathways, water supply, plumbing fire fighting, water/sewage/effluent treatment plants, general electrification and power supply etc. in Virar Car Shed and design and construction of Pre-engineered Buildings (PEBs) for Car Shed including its pile foundations, roofing, cladding, supply and commissioning of EOT cranes etc in Virar Car Shed.

Commenting on the contract, Mr. T.D.Arora, Head, Construction & Contracts Division, Era Infra Engineering Limited, said, “The award of this contract demonstrates the faith of Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. in the execution capabilities of Era Infra Engineering Limited. The contract will provide us a platform to contribute to the upcoming infrastructural need of improved rail transit within Mumbai.”
