CII announces its 6th flagship event ‘Pharma Summit 2008’

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announces its 6th International flagship summit – Pharma Summit 2008 to be held in Mumbai on September 10 2008.
The Keynote address of the Summit will be given by Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, Hon. Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr Surinder Singh, Drugs Controller General, Government of India will also grace the occasion.
The event will witness the release of CII and KPMG report on “India Pharma Inc. – An Emerging Global Pharma Hub”.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Jai Hiremath, Chairman, CII Pharma Summit 2008 and Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Hikal Ltd said, “Following the huge success of the earlier editions, CII is hosting the 6th edition of the Pharma Summit 2008. The aim of the summit is to identify the emerging opportunities in the industry and prepare itself to meet the new challenges in capturing these opportunities. The Summit will also focus on the specific sub-sectors such as CRAMS, Clinical research and related services, Discovery research, Biotechnology and Global generics opportunities that will enable Indian Pharmaceutical industry to emerge as the global pharma hub.”

The Summit will bring together crosscurrents of opinions, views and ideas inherent to the Pharmaceutical Industry, as it prepares to meet new challenges and imperatives. The Summit aims to build a common platform for the Indian Pharmaceutical community

Pharma Summit 2008 is supported by Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association (BDMA), Indian Chemical Council (ICC), Indian Drug Manufacturer’s Association (IDMA), Indo French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI).
