Voltas Q2 sales up by 11%, net profit up by 50%
The board of directors of Voltas, a global air conditioning and engineering services provider of the Tata group, have today announced the unaudited consolidated financial results including the consolidated segment report, for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2009.
The company’s sales / income from operations increased by 11% to Rs1098 crore, as against Rs990 crore in the same period last year. Operating profit (profit before tax and exceptional items) increased by 52% to Rs133 crore as against Rs88 crore in the same period last year. Profit after tax was higher by 50% at Rs92 crore, as compared to Rs61 crore in the same period last year.
The company’s electromechanical projects and services segment’s revenues grew by 22% and was at Rs769 crore. The order book of this segment stands at Rs4359 crore.
The engineering products and services segment’s revenues continued to remain impacted due to slowdown in demand for capital equipment and was lower by 28% at Rs117 crore.
The unitary cooling products for comfort and commercial use segment’s revenues grew by 27% and was at Rs197 crore.
