Zee Learn has received its board’s approval for consolidation of Education Infrastructure Assets under the company by way of a scheme of amalgamation for merger of Essel Entertainment Media (EEML) with itself with the appointed date of March 31, 2011. Consolidated Q3 PAT was Rs. 300mn compared to Rs. 148mn in Q3 of the previous year, a growth of 103 %.The consolidated PAT for nine months ended Dec 31st 2010 was Rs. 726mn, up from Rs. 391mn., a growth of 86% over the previous year.

JSW Steel corrected 5.32% to Rs. 914.20 at 11:02 IST after consolidated net profit fell 32.11% to Rs. 291.72 crore on 24.4% increase in net sales to Rs. 5964.81 crore in Q3 December 2010 over Q3 December 2009.

McMillion gave the example of Mexico, which allowed foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail in 1991 after a huge debate over whether that move would ruin local retailers.

Real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.2% annualized rate in the fourth quarter, up from a 2.6% rate registered in the third quarter of 2010.
Economists had forecast a GDP growth of 3.5%.
Consumer spending rose at a 4.4% annual pace in the final three months of the year, the fastest pace since the first quarter of 2006.
Inventories were a big drag on growth in the fourth quarter but this was largely offset by a positive contribution from net exports.
For the year as a whole, US GDP expanded by 2.9%, compared with a 2.6% drop in 2009.
This was the strongest growth rate in five years.
Economists had projected a US GDP growth of 2.7% for 2010.
