Hi Kumar, GE. A trend can be short term, mid term or long term. On charts if you find that the stock is making a series of higher highs and higher lows, we can say it is in uptrend. Conversely, if a stock is making lower highs and lower lows, we can say it is in downtrend. The chart selection according to timeframe is also important. For example, for noticing short term trend of say, a few hours to a few days, you can refer to intraday charts comprising of bars/candles of 5/15/30 mins duration. For longer trend evaluation, you can look for an EOD chart and see whether a stock is trading above or below its 200DMA. For levels and to determine how a stock moves and after what point, the stock is likely to move where, we have to understand the concept of SUPPORT, RESISTANCE, TRENDLINES. These can be determined by studying technical analysis. Also, people usually look out for PATTERNS in charts. These are some very basic guidelines. The more a person studies and puts to practise the lessons learnt in Technical Analysis, the more better :)

See, in 5 min charts, the 6:15 and 6:20 pm candles have again made lows of 4839. Inference? This seems to be a difficult low to break. On the upside, yesterday's high is not taken out as of now. Conclusion? 4839 to yesterday's high seems to be the range as of now in Crude
