The firm had posted a net profit of Rs 1,823.90 crore during the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal, TCS said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The total income of the company rose by 27.79 per cent to Rs 9,857.56 crore, as against Rs 7,714.04 crore in the October-December quarter a year-ago.

The company board declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Re 1 each.

The shares of the company today closed at Rs 1,138.15, up 1.74 per cent on the BSE.

TCS has declared its third quarter results. The company's Q3 consolidated net sales were up 4.05% at Rs 9,663.35 crore versus Rs 9,286.39 crore, quarter-on-quarter, QoQ.
Its consolidated net profit was up 9.24% at Rs 2,369.83 crore versus Rs 2,169.21 crore, QoQ.

Engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced its results for the quarter ended December 2010. It has reported a net profit at Rs 840.6 crore in Q3FY11 as against Rs 768.8 in same period of previous year, a growth of 9.34%. The company earned one time gain of Rs 35 crore.
Revenues jumped 40.52% to Rs 11,413 crore from Rs 8,122.2 crore in Q3FY10.

Nifty (5654) is trading weak, expecting a bounce back 5735/+, as market is clearly oversold and nifty has fallen over 557 points in last 14 days.

Call writing was seen at 5700,5800 call and put writing was seen at 5500,5400 put. 5600 put has got max oi at 83 L, 5600 will act as strong support.Nifty range as per option data 5600-5750.

Stratergy for Tuesday, based on bounceback stratergy.
1. Go long on nifty for a target of 5735-5750, SL 5695.
2. Buy 5700 call at 62 and sell 5800 call at 27, total preminum 35, book profit in the range of 5750-5800.
