BHEL gets orders worth Rs 10,000 cr

New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has got orders worth about Rs 10000 crore from NTPC and coal miner and power generator Neyveli Lignite Corp Ltd, its chairman said on Tuesday. New Delhi: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has got orders worth about Rs 10000 crore from NTPC and coal miner and power generator Neyveli Lignite Corp Ltd, its chairman said on Tuesday.

Its chairman Ravi Kumar told Reuters the state-run power equipment maker has got orders worth up to 60 billion rupees for five units of state-run power generator NTPC.

Ravikumar said Neyveli Lignite has also placed an order worth Rs 3200 crore.

Kumar said BHEL also expects Rs 60 crore revenue in 2009/10 from a joint venture signed on Tuesday to make products for railways and industries.

“Next year we’re planning a turnover of Rs 60 crore (from the JV),” he told reporters after forming the joint venture with state-run Kerala Electrical and Allied Engineering Co Ltd .
